I was impressed with the visual/media arts component of Sonar, being held in the main contemporary arts sector of Barcelona helped as the galleries were open for the festival audience, although it was the interactive nature of OFFFMatica which meant that people would actually engage with and enjoy the works. Highlights (in simple terms..): The Janus Machine by Kyle McDonald, Zach Lieberman, Theo Watson and Daito Manabe, a 3D scanner creates a portrait which can then be navigated around on screen

Points by Daito Manabe and Motoi Ishibashi, viewers have their silouhetes mapped, and this image is then used as a template for a programmed air pistol to shoot into paper
